Relief Society Broadcast

On Saturday I had the privilege of going to the RS Broadcast with my mom. It was a great spiritual up lifter. Sister Julie B. Beck talked about the 3 responsibilities that we have as women of the church.
1. Increase our Faith
2. Strengthen family and home. It is our duty to defend and practice the truths from "Family" A Proclamation to the World.
3.Serve the Lord and his children. We can do his work here on earth if we seek and ask for revelation.

I took notes that's the reason why I remembered. Sister Silvia H. Allred talked about temple worship and she related several experiences that she had when she lived in Costa Rica. Me and my family went through a similar experience when my parents decided they wanted to go through the temple and be sealed for eternity. I was about 3 yrs old when we sacrificed alot of things so that we could attend the Washington D.C temple. It was the closest temple to Puerto Rico at that time.
Sister Barbara Thompson talked about the Relief that the sisters from Relief Society give to each other and to others. She counseled that we should devote ourselves to RS in service and that we need to participate in RS. RS is not just a class on Sundays. Its an organization that Lord has created for the women of the church.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf talked about that some sisters undervalue their abilities. They see what they are lacking and not what they have accomplished.

I really liked these talks. They really did a good job in instructing us. I'm looking forward to General conference next weekend. Iam excited cause we will be attending the 1st Saturday session in the conference center.

The things that kids say!!!

Today I read my friend, Zildy's blog and she had some cute stories about the things that her kids say and do. So that gave me an idea of yet another post.

Some of you know that I lost a baby girl 6 yrs ago. She was a stillbirth and this was before I had Kaylee. Lately, I have been teaching my kids about the Resurrection and the Second coming of our Lord Jesuschrist. And I told them that when Brianna (that's our baby girls name) is resurrected we will be able to have her and raise her together. So Kaylee says,"Mami, well that's going to be our baby and that's it". She says that because I don't think we will be having anymore kids because of the high risk in my pregnancies. So she says that, that will be our baby. On another occasion they have asked me "When is Jesus coming?". They both share their opinions about it and they want to meet him and hug him.

I'm happy to know that even if my kids are still small and do not understand that well these two concept of the gospel I can rest assure that their little testimonies are growing. And I'm so happy to know that their primary teachers are doing their jobs in teaching them these principles of the Gospel and that at home Jorge and me can continue with these important lessons of the gospel and the example that we give them when they see us praying, reading our scriptures, preparing our lessons, paying our tithing, going to the temple, etc.... These are just thoughts I had in my head of how great our gospel is and how simple it is to understand if we have faith and if we have the spirit with us.

Toddler Time

Today we went to the Fremont Park to have the kids play and to chat for awhile with the ladies from the ward. It's a good therapy for us moms to get together and just chat and catch up with each other. The day was perfect for a day in the park, sunny but not to hot. the kids took their bikes and played with the sand and the park and rode their bikes. Sorry I was thinking of taking my camera but didn't and so I don't have any pictures of today. I do have pictures of last weeks Toddler time which was at the church and we sang, had storytime.

Happy Birhtday to my Dad!

This is my dad
On the 13th of September it was my dad's birthday. He is 58 yrs old. And I think he still looks pretty good. I totally forgot to post about his birthday because there are so many birthday's in my family on September that I totally spaced it. We had some cake and ice cream and he opened up his presents.

Also on September 1st my parents had their 32 yr anniversary. Congratulations!!! They are a great example to me of how a marriage should be. They are loving towards each other, they tease each other, they make fun of each other and they have alot of fun. They are so much into the gospel they live their lives in following the commandments and doing their family history. They love to go to the temple and do temple work. That is such an example to me and I hope I can start helping them with Geneology. It's funny that I don't have pictures of my mom and dad together. So as soon as I have one I will post it.

Boring Days

My blog doesn't seem to have to many fun posts. I have fallen into the routine with my kids of staying home more opposed to going out alot. They like to stay home and have Preschool time. Preschool time is the time that I sit with them and go over the alphabet and the numbers and then we talk about what day of the week it is and then they do 1,2 or 3 pgs of workbooks that I bought them according to their ages and they love it. We have show and tell on Wednesdays. And we do some crafty things at least once a week. There are days that we need to run errands and we don't have time for preschool time but its good for them to have a break. In my ward there are so many kids and stay at home moms that the relief society president has arranged a Toddler Time were we can take our kids to and they get to sing, read books, play for about 1 hour each wednesday morning. And it's been fun to sit and relax while the kids play and I can chat with other moms. Today Kaylee had her 5yrs old check up and she got some kindergarden shots and an eye exam. Even though she doesn't get to go to school this year she will be set for next year. Yes, she isn't in school because she misses the deadline by 1, yes I know 1 lousy day. So she is stuck with me for 1 more year. I put her in preschool last year and she loved it and knows how to write her name and last name and the alphabet, ect...So during preschool time I just reinforce those things and hopefully she will learn how to read sooner. Braden is really good with learning. He knows his alphabet, count to 10, colors, shapes. He loves to learn. I took some pictures of kaylee this morning she didn't want to go to the DR. so she was being lazy getting ready and so she layed down in the hallway with her blanket. I wish we had more things to do here in Syracuse. Evryhting fun is faraway and I'am lazy to drive far. We have done everything that is close to us and need new things to do .

I'am posting some pictures that are 1 week old. We were bored and so Braden tried on a Gabriella Wig that kaylee got for her birthday. As gabriella from High school musical. She got the full costume for her to wear for halloween. These are funny so you will laugh.

Dinner with Friends

Yesterday we had the Leavitt Family over for a Venezuelan Dinner. We made arepas with shredded beef. They really liked them. We were worried that they might not like it but they did. We have alot of fun with them as we joked, saw pictures of when Jorge and me got married and the guys played Ping Pong. The kids played really well together, it seemed they were tired but had fun anyway. We had Key Lime Pie for dessert which was really good. It was a different type of evening and we enjoyed ourselves, I hope they enjoyed themselves as well.

Kaylee's Birthday Party!!

On Saturday we had Kaylee's Birthday party. She had about 7 friends over and we played games, ate cake and icecream, and played. It turned out to be a success. I was so tired after it was done, but happy that she was able to hangout with her bestfriends from church and neighborhood. After her little party we had some family come to finish celebrating her birthday. It was fun to have the family over and to hangout together for a few hours. September is the big birthday month in both of our families. So we are happy our little girl turned 5 but kind of bummed that she gets to start school till next year.

Day with Grandma!!

Today we went out with my mom (grandma). We went to buy some last things for Kaylee Birthday party and then went to Target to exchabge some things and then to buy some lunch at Maddox Chicken and we took our lunch to the Layton park so that the kids could play in there playground and see the ducks. This park is so beautiful and peaceful its in the middle of the city but once you are in the park you feel like you are faraway from everything. The city takes great care of this park. And that's the reason why we love it. I wish Syracuse had a park similar to this one with big shady trees and pine trees. We had a great time and the weather was so nice it felt like Spring again. Too bad I didn't bring my camera with me.

Kaylee's Birthday celebration #1

Today is officially Kaylee's 5th birthday. But since today Jorge worked and had school we celebrated yesterday (Labor Day). We took Kaylee to eat at TGIF and we got some of her presents and then later in the day we went to my sister-in-laws house to celebrate her birthday. In our family september is the one month that has the most birthday's. So here we start the month and we will end the month all broke because of so many gifts that we will end up buying. But anyways, today we woke up and I gave Kaylee her 1st present of the day. Then she played all day with her brother and cousin, and then when Jorge got home we ate some yummy pizza that I made for her and sang Happy Birthday to her with a tres leches cake that Jorge got her from Costa Vida. That is her favorite cake. and then she opened her presents. So it's been a busy and happy day for us and for her. Saturday we will have the 2nd celebration when she will have all her little friends over and the family. She is so lucky she will get so many presents.
