Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome

Since I was married I have had irregular periods and I was then diagnosed with "Polycystic Ovarian syndrome". I had cysts in my ovaries that wouldn't let me have normal periods and it was hard to conceive. Last year I also had irregular periods, I had a total of 5 periods and now I am going through the same thing. I suspected that I again had this but had waited. Today I went to my Doctor and he said that this is a condition that does not go away but that it can be treated so that the hormone levels and insulin levels of the body can be normal. This Syndrome affect alot of things: weight gain, difficulty lossing weight, months and months of a period and on and on symptoms. This explains alot of thing with me. Lately I have been trying to loose weight and haven't been successful, now I know the reason behind this, also I have gained some weight lately. I hope the medication that the doctor put me on works so that I can shed some pounds and get this thing under control.

Not too much excitment!

We haven't had any excitment around our house lately. I guess once summer starts and we start to do more fun things with the kids my posting will get better. Jorge will have his last final tomorrow (tuesday) and then he will be done with school until fall semester. We are so excited to have him around more during the summer. We have a trip coming up to Las Vegas for our 10 year anniversary and we are planning to go camping with the kids and go to Laggoon, this summer. And hopefully we will plan other things along the way. It's taking forever for the good weather to get here.

Layton Police Station Fieldtrip

Today we had a fieldtrip to the Layton Police Station. We have a brother from our ward that is an officer at this station his wife Sara, is our Relief Society president. So she organized this trip and the kids loved it. He had his patrol car and motorcycle available for the kids to climb into them and play and see how this cars look like. I even took pictures of Kaylee and Braden. Kaylee happen to be on the motorcycle when he demonstrated the sirens so she got to be his helper and press the different buttons. After the car and motocycle they took pictures and fingerprints of all the kids. Braden was very excited to see a patrol car and they were both even playing that they were going to jail. How funny is that. We love our Relief Society presidency that are thinking about us moms that stay home with our kids and providing some fun and learning experiences for them through the Mom and Tot program in our ward. We usually get together on Weds and for 1 hour sing, read books have a snack and do a craft activity. And during the summer months we go to parks and field trips. Way to go ladies!!!

Personal Progress

Yesterday I officially started my own "Personal Progress" experience as a leader. I had the priviledge of receiving the Young Women Recognition Award when I was in Young Women and now I have committed my time to do it once again as a leader. Now that I have been in this calling for 2 yrs. I can do it and set an example for the girls. I am way excited, I have completed two experiences under Faith and have the project idea, I just need to finish the experiences first though. I guess with our new presidency I have gotten more motivation. I have been going with Anne our 2nd counselor over beehives to the new beehives homes and have been introducing the Personal Progress to them and their parents and it has been a neat experience. Also in the Young Women broadcast the General presidency challenged the leaders to do the value "Virtue" which is a new value that was introduced in the beginning of this year. So I also received the motivation from our dear General Young Women Presidency. I hope I can keep up with it and finish it.

This weekend was an eventful one!!

It started on Friday evening, our good friends The Leavitts invited us for dinner. We had a great time chatting with them. The guys played ping pong and the kids played very well together and Jenny and I just talked about everything. We always have a great time with their family.

On Saturday we had several errands to run plus Jorge had some baptisms to attend to and Braden won a coloring contest for "FAmous Daves" restaurant and so they invited us to come have lunch with "Wilbur the Pig" (their mascot). He won free lunch, I thought they would give the whole family free food but to my surprise we ended up paying for our lunch. We had a great time except Kaylee, for some reason Kaylee is afraid of people dressed up in big costumes so she was upset most of the time until the food arrived and she was eating away and happy. Braden had his picture taken with Wilbur and they gave him a Certificate. He had alot of fun, and he felt very special.

Easter Sunday was a full of family stuff. First we went over to my brothers branch. They dissolved the branch and is a ward now and my brother received the calling of 1st counselor of the bishop plus he was ordained a high priest. He is only 25 yrs old and a high priest already. I felt very proud of my brother, he is a great guys and husband and I know he will do a great job as counselor of the ward. He will soon graduate from Weber University with a Mechanic Engineer degree. I will post on that when it happens. Then we went to my parents branch which is the Emmigration Trail spanish branch here in syracuse. And my dad got called to be the 1st counselor of the branch president. We were able to hear testimonies and feel the spirit of these special members of the church. After all this happened everyone came over to our house to have some dinner and have our monthly family Home evening. We showed Elder Holland's talk from General Conference about our Saviour Jesus Christ and his crucifiction and resurrection. All in all it was a busy but very special sunday for our whole family.
