Happy Birthday MOM!

Today my mom will be a year older. My mom was born in La Playa, Puerto Rico. She is the middle child and only girl in her family. Her dad used to be a fisherman and a veteran of war and her mom always stayed at home with them. They had their own fish market that they operated from home. Eventhought they didn't have the gospel in their lives, they were taught good values and morals. I love you mom and its great to have the opportunity to be with you and enjoy this life together.

Today I am planning on taking her out for lunch and celebrate her birthday.

Decorated Laundry Room

A couple of weeks ago I was at JiffyLube changing the oil to my car and was looking through a BetterHomes and Gardens magazine and saw the cutest remodeled laundry room. My laundry room was a huge mess, junk everywhere and no space for anything. So I decided to take on the project of redoing the room, with ideas that this article had plus the pictures that it had gave me ideas on what to do. I went to the DI and found a Jar with lid big enough to put my detergent in, and then bought some cute signs at The Quilted Bear and Hobby Lobby to put on the walls, I still need to buy some black storage boxed to put away the stuff on the shelfs so that it can look neater. But this I will do this week and here is the finished product minus the storage boxes.

"Confessions of a Shop a holic"

This evening I got together with a group of friends and we went to watch "Confessions of a Shop a holic". I really liked the movie, it was funny, clean and it had the most gorgeous clothes you can ever imagine. The shoes, the bags, the accessories. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I love to shop, although I don't even spend half the money that the lady in the movie did. But still I love shoes, bags and clothes. I even have my own shoe collection and bag collection. The other day I decided to buy the plastic containers with lids so that I could better accomodate my shoes, and trust it looks even better and more organized. I would need to do something better for my bags, right now they are all in a tote with a lid inside my walking closet. But all in all I love all of this stuff, I can be a shop a holic but in a more bargany way.

Kids!!!! part 2

This morning as I was getting ready for church the kids where playing, and Kaylee asked me if they could put on their swimming suits, I agreed. Then when I went to tell them that it was time to dress for church I found them in our downstair living room laying on top of the cushions of the loveseat. Braden looked so comfy and they looked like they were catching some sun. It was funny. Here are the pictures I took of them.

Our date!

On Friday we planned to go down to the Salt Lake Temple and to have dinner in celebration of Valentines Day. I left around 12pm and picked up Jorge at his work, he got off early so that we could go into the 2pm session. We arrived at the temple and proceeded with the session, which in my opinion was a great experience. It had been a few months since we hadn't had the chance to enjoy a temple session. So I was excited when jorge planned this date for us. The session was amazing because in this temple there are actors that act the scenes of the session. Anyway I felt the spirit so strong and was able to feel the love that Heavenly Father has for us. I felt such a peace of mind about my calling in the YW, that I know that I am doing something right so that our youth in these latter days can be "strong and immovable" in the gospel, I truly have faith that my sweet girls are in the right path to the joy and happiness that they can have if they stay true to themselves and the principles of our gospel.
After the session we went to eat to "The Lion House Pantry". If you have never been there, take the opportunity to go. The food is excellent the atmosphere very quiet and nice to talk to each other. Its a cafeteria type of setup but the food is good and the dessert are to die for. All in all we had a great date, spiritual and fun, rejuvenating for our relationship.

Valentines Party

Yesterday we had Music Makers and they organized a little Valentines party for the kids. They played a game with some music and then we passed out valentine cards, we then had storytime and snacks, and last but not least the kids made valentine cards for their parents. It was a fun hour of different activities and they had alot of fun. The kids love to do this kind of thing and feel like they are included on everything. I also fixed the kids some heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and they loved them!!

Kids!!!!

Yesterday Kaylee made a paper horn in Primary class. Today Braden wanted one so I made him one and they where both saying "I am the angel Moroni, toot, toot, toot". It was so funny I couldn't stop laughing at their curiosity.

Valentine Cards

Eventhough my kids don't go to school yet, they wanted to make valentine cards for their little friends. On wednesday we are having alittle valentine's day party at Music Makers, this will be at our church and the kids will get to make cards for all the kids and deliver them to each other. And close to saturday we will have to go around our neighborhood to deliver their cards.

Aladdin

Jorge has a friend at work that loves to act and sing, he has been in the Martin Harris Pageant up in Clarksville and this weekend he was the Genie in the Disney "Aladdin". He invited us and they performed this play in the Clearfield Stake Center. They did such a good job, I was very impressed. The actors consisted of the youth and children from their primary and a few adults for the more challenging parts. I took some pictures of the stage and props that they used. It was a great play and a good opportunitie for the kids to see this live. Kaylee loved it since she could relate to it because she loves Jasmine.

Great Friends!!

Last night we got together with some friends that live in our neighborhood and go to our same ward. The Mclaws, the Uminskis and Savannah, her husband . The Uminskis have moved out but they sold their house this last week and yesterday had to sign documents for the closing and so decided to get together with all of us one last time. We went to the Solomon Center in Ogden and ate at Pizza Factory and the kids played at a playground they had, we were able to talk for awhile and have the kids play. Hopefully this spring or summer we can go visit them at Rigby, Idaho. Thanks for the fun time we had and specially for the friendship that we hold dear to our hearts. Jorge and I are so glad that we have become friends with a great group of people from our neighborhood, that we can trust and have fun with.

Chocolate Chip Bars

Today I baked some chocolate chip bars. This is a recipe that I have made several times before. The recipe is at the back of Hershey chocolate chips bags. It is a cookie recipe but it has instructions on how to make them bars. It is the same exact recipe just that instead of cookies you spread the mix on a jellyroll sheet and bake for 20 minutes, then cool and cut into squares. We love this recipe and I have made some variations with the ingredients to make them alittle healthier. Instead of pure white sugar I blend sugar with splenda and also instead of white flour I use whole wheat flour mixed with some white flour. Really, you cannot taste the difference.
