Braden's new Toy!
Maria and Steve gave braden an electric truck for christmas. Today was the first time that he rode it. At first he was scared and reluctant, but Kaylee tried it out and even my niece, daniela tried it out. I even had to try it out so that braden could see that it wasn't scary and that it was fun to ride and drive it. After he rode on it for the first time he loved it and wouldn't get off of it. It was great. Here are some pictures.
After Christmas Shopping!!
I love to go shopping after christmas. On Friday we had some important things to do. Since Jorge is the ward clerk he needed to get all the new manuals for next year for each organization. So we all went with him to the Layton Distribution center to get that out of the way. After that it was time to head to the mall. First we went to DSW shoes to see if I could find some boots, and I did find them and they were cheap too!! Then we arrived at the mall and went in search for some books at deseret book (my parents gave jorge a giftcard). Jorge ended up spending close to 2 hrs searching for the books that he wanted to get, in the meantime I was entertaining the kids until we got tired of waiting for him that I said, "I am going to Childrens Place with the kids". So we went and found some great deals for kaylee and braden. Then finally Jorge was done and we were starving so we went to the foodcourt to get some lunch and after lunch it was my turn to see if i could find a dress or skirt for church. I did find a cute dress and finally we were exhausted from being in the mall for about 4 hrs. Later that day we went home and relaxed with the kids and played twister and watched a movie.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Celebrations!
Christmas Eve we got together at my sisters house. We ate some Puerto Rican food that consisted of Rice with Gandules, Salad, Roasted Lamb and for dessert: Arroz con Dulce and Majarete (Rice pudding). We really enjoyed the food. After dinner we went down to my sisters basement for a spiritual thought that my parents had prepared about the True meaning of christmas and we each shared an experience of our most memorable christmas. We then proceded to play Bingo, each person that won Bingo would get a small prize. After the game we danced for alittle bit and then talked till 12:30am. Christmas Day we had everyone over our house for our traditional christmas breakfast. I made homemade pancakes, with maple syrup, fruit salad, hot chocolate, bacon and juice. Everyone loved the breakfast. We then opened presents and played with the kids, and talked some more. Later in the day we all went out to eat chinese food(the only restaurant open on christmas day). We had a great christmas and I think our family became even closer.
Family Home Evening
Monday night we made a special Family Home Evening about the birth of JesusChrist. Jorge found different things for the kids to wear so that they could portray Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus. It was a cute way for them to learn the importance of the birth of our Saviour and we were able to feel the spirit.

Playdate with Taylor and Kai
Yesterday my good friend Jenny came with her kids to our house to have a play over. It was turn to have it over our house. The kids enjoyed themselves, played very well together and we decorated gingerbread cookies. They had a blast eating them and eating the frosting off of the piping bag. We had pizza for lunch and then it was time for them to go home and rest. We had a great time like always. Thanks Jenny, Kai and Taylor for playing with us. Next time we need to get together as a family and have dinner and have the husbands play some ping pong.

Becky Smith was the hostess for this years party and she cooked dinner for us which turned out very delicious. We exchanged our gifts and talked some more and had a yummy pumpking cake for dessert that mandy made. It was a great time to reunite with my friends.

Christmas is coming!!
I am so excited for christmas this year. Is it because my kids are alittle older and they are excited themselves that Santa Clause is real and that he will bring presents for them? I don't know, but it is such a special time and this year more than others I feel it more in my heart. Maybe the financial circumstances that our country is in has to do with it and seeing that we are blessed to still have a job, an income to pay our mortgage with, food on our table, and the thought that even if we have struggled this year with one thing or another we can still say that our Heavenly Father has blessed us and that he is always on our side to help. And that in this time of season when our savior was born he is always there to support us and to lift the burden off of our shoulders once again.
Today we played in the snow and the kids enjoyed it again. We wanted to make snowmen but the snow is too dry and doesn't stick. We also made some cookies for jorge to take to his Home Teaching Families. And tonight I have the most anticipated party of the year with my High School girlfriends, I am totally excited not only because I get to see them but because I get a present!! I know, I am alittle selfish, J/K!! Yesterday the kids played with a Kareoke machine my sister let me borrow and I got them a new cd for it from the HSM 2 movie, it was fun and I even sang a couple of songs.

Weekend Fun
This weekend was a busy one, but relaxing at the same time. First, Jorge had his final on Thursday. We are so glad he is done for this semester. Hope he passes the test. On Friday night we took the kids to Chuckee Cheeses, they loved it and had alot of fun there. The pizza was actually pretty good. Then on Saturday morning we woke up early to go to our ward christmas breakfast party. It was snowing by then and very cold, we arrived at the church and they had a great turnout. We had great food and entertainment, Santa Claus came and took pictures with the kids and gave them a candycane. This year our ward decided instead of giving a small present to the children, they decided to have the families of our ward give a canned food donation to take to the food bank. I thought that was a great idea. Later that day Jorge and I went out on a date to see Four Christmases, with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaghn. It was a hilarious movie and very cute. We then went to eat dinner and then proceeded in doing some quick christmas shopping for some last minute things but couldn't find what we were looking for at our local walmart, and again it gets postponed till further notice. the kids also had the opportunity to play outside in the snow with our neighborhood kids, they slide down the driveway of our accross the street neighbors and had alot of fun, They both played outside for about an Hour.

First Presidency Christmas Devotional
Yesterday evening we watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. It was a great evening to reflect this time of year when our Savior JesusChrist was born in bethlehem in a manger. We are so lucky and blessed to know the gospel and to know that JesusChrist is our Savior and Redemmer and that He took all of our sins upon himself so that we wouldn't have to go through that suffering. He loves us so much. Just like Pres. Utchdorf said, this time of year we should think about the birth of JesusChrist and not so much on receiving and giving gifts that with the economic times maybe it is a blessing, so that we can think about the true meaning of christmas.
Merry Christmas!!

Temple Square Christmas Lights!
It's that time of year where Temple Square lights up. We had the opportunity in going on Saturday evening. And it was packed, but the christmas spirit was felt. I loved the lights and the kids were in awe of how many lights they are able to put on these trees. It was beautiful. If you get a chance go see the lights. We even took some pictures and we think we found the our christmas card picture among the pictures that we took. Some people were kind enough to take a couple of family pictures of us. They even had two Nativity scenes this year, one was on the reflection pond and it looked as if the figures where floating. It looked really pretty.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow will be Thanksgiving and we will be busy eating turkey and celebrating with family. I just want to share some things that I am most thankful for.
1. My husband, Jorge for the sacrifices that he does for me and the kids so that we can have a better future. For being an excellent husband and provider.
2. For my kids, they are kind, caring and lovable and I am truly thankful for their health and the intelligence that they possess.
3. For the gospel, without it I would be lost. and for the testimony that I have of the true gospel of JesusChrist. And for the comfort that it brings me to know that their is a god that loves us and wants the best for us and who is always at our side.
4. For our jobs and the means to provide for our family in these tough times. Eventhough we might sometimes have little we still have a roof over our head and food on our table.
5. For my immediate family, for the love they give me and the example that they are to me.
6. And lastly for my friends, they are a blessing to have because without them life would be a little dull.

Twilight!!!
Well the big day has arrived for us Twilight Fans. I was kind of skeptical if to even dare go to the movie theather today to watch the movie. But Jorge decided for us and we went together to the 4:10pm show. He bought the tickets this morning (he has been sick so he was out sick today too) not too bad for a sick day. He was nice enought to go with me and we had my mom and dad watch the kids for the afternoon. They told him when he bought the tickets to arrive 1 hour prior to the show time so that we could stand in line. We arrived around 3:10pm and went right inside cause they were seating the people and we waited inside, which was very comfortable.
The movie was very good. They did skip alot of parts from the book but showed really the most important parts of the book. I can say that I thought they did a pretty good job in acting out alot of these parts from the book fairly well. I can also say that they did a good job in keeping alot of what the book is about and didn't really add anymore to it. So I give it Two Thumps Up!!.
When we left the theater there was a huge crowd in line for the 7:00pm show and we were glad we came early to see it. If you haven't seen it and you want too, it is worth it!! My opinion!!
Jorge like dit also. He has even started reading the first book as soon as he got home.

Cold, Headache, Cough, Stuffy nose
When is this going to be over? We have been sick for almost 2 weeks now. First Braden started with the cough and low grade fever then Jorge started feeling sick last weekend, then Kaylee catched the virus braden had (braden is fine now) and Kaylee is sick, and me, well I was the healthy one out of the bunch and now I am sick with same thing and Jorge is still battling this cold. He stayed home from work yesterday and today went to work but called me around 11 am to tell me that his boss told him he could go home if he was not feeling well. So since he carpools with 3 other people he was not driving his car so I told him I would pick him up. So I went to salt lake and picked him up and we got home and he crashed in bed and hopefully he will wakeup feeling better.
Jorge specially has so many things going on now between school, work, hoemwork, calling that he doesn't rest like he would like to and his body may not be as rested and when he catches a cold he feels miserable. So I hope my honey can feel better soon.

Grandpas Work Christmas Partyyyy!
On Saturday my dad had his work christmas party at Classic Fun Center. Since he doesn't have small kids anymore, he decided to take the grandkids. So we dropped off the kids at classic and Jorge and me went to eat breakfast and to start some of the christmas shopping. It was nice to be alone the two of us, having in mind that the kids were having a good time with their grandparents. They provided breakfast, 2 hours of bouncing, skating, lasertag, ect.. Plus Santa Claus showed up and gave each child a toy (let me tell you, they went all out with the toys, they were cute toys). We then picked them up at around 10am. Kaylee and Braden were so tired.
In the evening we went out againg to the Newgate Mall, just to walk and see the decorations and then we got some takeout from our favorite chinese restaurant, Dragon Hill. And had a quiet rest of the night.

Santa Mail!
On Monday the kids and I wrote letters to Santa. I saw on a Macy's commercial that they were going to have a big Mail Box at their store locations for kids to drop their santa letters and for every letter they get the store will donate $1.00 to the make-a-wish foundation. Macy's will even deliver the letters to the postoffice so that they can be mailed to the North Pole. So after watching this commercial I decided to have the kids write their letters. Ofcourse I was the one that wrote them and they decorated them and put stickers on them and they would just tell me what to write and what toys they want for Christmas. It's a great idea because now I kind off know what they want for christmas, Hint, hint!!
So yesterday we went to the Layton Hills Mall, where their is a Macy's store and we found the big Mail Box and it was so cute that I took my camera and took pictures of the kids infront of it and while putting their letters in the slot. They were so excited!! I remember when I still BELIEVED that santa was real. It is the most exciting moment for a child to BELIEVE that he knows what you want and to know that he comes late at night. I just want my kids to have that experience for a long time and hopefully not find out about the truth until they are much, much older. Now they are already telling me that we need to leave Hot chocolate and cookies for him to snack on when he comes. We did this last year and when they woke up the next morning and saw that the mug was empty and the cookies were gone, they were so surprised because they knew he had come during the night. Those are the most wonderful memories.
I myself had a great childhood because my parents never told me about the Santa thing. I always BELIEVED it was true until I found out for myself when I was 10 or 11 yrs old. I'am getting into the christmas spirit already that I even changed my blog background. Wait until I put my chirstmas music playlist, coming soon!!!

Cute Flowers
Yesterday afternoon we went to Roberts Craft and bought some flowers. Well, I have been looking at this cute hair clips for Kaylee's hair since a few months ago and they are kind of pricey for what they are. They run between $3.00 to $6.00 a piece. The cuter and bigger once can be even more. Well I decided to buy flowers of different colors and hair clips, and cut off the flower part and hot glue the hair clip to the back of the flower, and done. So I made these today and they turned out pretty good, and I only spend $7.00 on the materials. Cool Huh?
And bytheway, kaylee lost another tooth and she looks so adorable with her missing teeth.
